Islamic Funeral

Lives are no more than a lit candle – sooner or later it dies out

“Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”

(Prayer of Prophet Yusuf (a) after reuniting with his family.)

Abu Sa’id and Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Remind those who are on their death bed of the Shahadah “La’Ilaha illall-ah….” (for them to say it, hoping it will be their last words)”

Of the five rights of a believer, one is to attend Janaza’s prayers and follow the processions. We should pray for others as we would like others to pray for us.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever follows a funeral and offers the funeral prayer then leaves, will have one Qirat reward. And whoever follows it and offers the funeral prayer then stays until the burial is completed will have two Qirat of reward, both of which are greater than Uhud.”
